Description M. Edward Borasky 2008-04-30 13:39:24 UTC
I tried booting it twice, once without framebuffer and once with it. Without framebuffer, it didn't recognize the boot partition. With the framebuffer, it came up to the main screen but the keyboard and mouse were frozen. This is a relatively new system (about a year old, Athlon64 X2, NVidia-based motherboard). It is running Gentoo ~amd64 just fine. Here's an "lspci" if that will help.

The mouse is a logitech trackball and the keyboard is a cheap NX USB keyboard. "lsusb" says:

I'm going to try this on some older hardware later today. I doubt if I'll download and test the AMD64 LiveDVD -- the machine is very happy with the 2.6.25 kernel at the moment.

oops ... this should be filed under beta *2*!!

This should be fixed in 2008.0, which is now released.
