Created attachment 152801 [details] updated ebuild NetworkManager trunk calls polkit_contex_is_caller_authorized, which means it needs sys-auth/policykit-0.7 or newer, which aren't in portage, but are available in bug 214801. Also, it requires net-dialup/ppp because upstream added PPP connection support unconditionally, and build will fail without it present (and it assumes pppd plugins belong in /usr/lib/pppd/2.4.4)
Created attachment 159859 [details] updated networkmanager-9999 This updates the last ebuild and corrects some issues I found. I removed the kde useflag since depending on knetworkmanager would create a circular dependency. Also, I moved gnome-base/gvfs under the gnome useflag since NM compiles fine without it. I have to admit that I did not test the gnome support since I am running KDE.
Getting live ebuilds into the tree is not a top priority for me at this point. If you are willing to try snapshot builds of NM 0.7, please track/post on bug 235330.
I get this error when I am trying to build svn package for networkmanager checking for HAL... yes checking for LIBNL... yes checking for UUID... yes checking for POLKIT... yes Your PolicyKit version is 0,9,0. checking for polkit-policy-file-validate... /usr/bin/polkit-policy-file-validate configure: error: Please choose either 'nss' or 'gnutls' for certificate and key operations I have enabled gnutls useflag on networkmanager however. I am using policykit 0.9 ( it is hard masked ). Any ideas? Thanks
@rbu: Thanks for getting this in the tree. Just one question: Are you sure that nm-applet still depends on libgnomeui? Cause I think this dep has been removed (and configure doesn't check for it)
closing since net-misc/networkmanager-0.7 is now in the tree
