Description Dominik Kozaczko 2008-04-23 06:19:12 UTC
Is there any possibility to split gnome-utils to several packages just like it was with KDE? I use XFCE desktop and want to use *some* of the gnome-utils - like, say, Baobab.

Besides keeping minimalist installation with XFCE desktop is almost impossible - I have to pull most of GNOME to use only some of the utils. I have to use emerge --nodeps to install what I need without all the bloat. But it's always like walking on the minefield - some deps are required, some are optional (but selected as default).

Reproducible: Always

I'm sorry, but no. Nothing (except deskbar-applet) depends on it, so it's not an issue with dependencies, and it would be a fair amount of work for very little gain.

If you want to do the work, and can show that ongoing maintenance won't be high, we'd consider it, but we're not going to do the work ourselves.

Feel free to re-open if you have patches.
