There is a new version of Amanda out that supports S3 as its backend :-) Reproducible: Always
it could also do with activating some new S3 flags too: --enable-devpay --enable-s3-device Also, see my feature request in this bug: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=217507
It looks as tho the new S3 feature needs net-misc/curl to be installed.
The baseline 2.6.x is in, package.masked for now. To add new features like this stuff, please attach a patch.
From what I can tell, S3 support is enabled by default in 2.6.x and the devpay stuff isn't supported in Europe by Amazon at the moment so I've no way of testing it and therefore don't need it ;-) With that in mind, it may be best to close this bug now the 2.6.x ebuild is in portage :-)
this is staying open till 2.6.0p2 which I think will be better.
As for devpay, note that it requires a product token -- it's really only useful for folks reselling Amanda. So it probably doesn't make sense to enable that option. 2.6.0p2 fixes a lot of bugs, although there's one more bug affecting overwriting large S3 volumes (Lisa Seeyle is testing the patch now) which should probably be applied in the ebuild.
(In reply to comment #6) > As for devpay, note that it requires a product token -- it's really only useful > for folks reselling Amanda. So it probably doesn't make sense to enable that > option. LOL, but that's why I wanted it activated! ;-)
dustin: could you attach the S3 patch here when Lisa is done with testing it? p2 is already in the main tree.
No problem, Robin.
2.6.0p2-r1 in the tree now.
