Description Vince C. 2008-04-22 07:23:29 UTC
The list of processes in xfce4 task manager 0.3.* grows each time it's refreshed. The first two processes (in sort order) are inserted on top of the list again and again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

The problem didn't happen on a version 0.3.x under Fedora Core 8 (x86). I've seen it on all Gentoo x86_64 platforms I installed.
Comment 1 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-04-22 15:49:48 UTC
emerge --info, please. Oh, and what package? Is it perhaps xfce-extra/xfce4-taskmanager?
Comment 2 Vince C. 2008-04-22 17:15:14 UTC
Sorry, I was on a MEPIS installation, unable to access my system at the time I filed this bug. Now I am on an AMD Athlon 64 machine on which I installed Gen... too and, ironically, xfce-extra/xfce4-taskmanager-0.3.2-r1 doesn't exhibit the bug on that very platform. It did in the past but it doesn't anymore. If you can wait one more comment from me, I'll boot and post from the "buggy" machine.

I'm rectifying: xfce-extra/xfce4-taskmanager *does* exhibit the bug on the machine I had just called "sane". So my first comment was true. Just that task manager decided to wait a little before it went crazy when I posted my second comment! -.o

Go figure...

Thanks for reporting, but you should have reported it at http://bugzilla.xfce.org primarily, and then here. Please do so now, and add the URL of upstream bug to the URL field.

Well, I hoped I wouldn't have to create yet another account (I already have so many of them) to just file a bug hence I posted here. Never mind, I'll file a bug at XFCE bugzilla now.
Comment 7 Vince C. 2008-05-04 11:54:39 UTC
Bug URL at XFCE4 bugzilla.
Comment 8 Christoph Mende (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-06-20 15:30:28 UTC
is this still a problem with xfce4-taskmanager-0.4.0?

I'm syncing, upgrading and I'll tell you whether it's fixed for me or not (on my Core2 Duo laptop). I'll probably not have enough time to test it on my Athlon64 machine until monday though.

xfce4-taskmanager-0.4.0 solved the problem on all my machines.

Thanks a lot.
