I upgraded recently my intel graphics driver from version 1.7.4 to version 2.1.1 and then to 2.2.99... my computer (Samsung X20 Intel 915GM) freezes everytime when I try to connect an external monitor (Fujitsu Siemens 19" flatscreen 1280x1024@60) and running "xrandr" When I run "xrandr" if the monitor is not connected I get an usual output. But when I connect it and start xrandr (without arguments) the computer completely freezes. I see nothing of the crash in the Xorg log file or in syslog. My computer also locks completely when I reboot it (when the monitor is connected) and it tries to start the X server. Does anybody know how to fix these freezes? thanks flo

please comment out the following lines in your xorg.conf HorizSync 30.0 - 83.0 VertRefresh 55.0 - 76.0 Option "DPMS" Option "PreferredMode" "1280x1024" and please also try downgrading back to 2.2.99.902 or .901 to see if either one of those prereleases work. Thanks
