I get this when trying to emerge openoffice 2.4:

Could it be that you ran out of disk space?

Nope, I have 80 GB free.

How big is your /var?

You probably have your /var on a separate partition and OpenOffice tries build a bunch of .obj files in /var/tmp. The size may not be enough for it to finish. I don't know why it does this, but it started happening to me when I added LINGUAS="en ja" in the rc.conf.

No. Oddly enough, OpenOffice has finally built without changing anything, I don't really understand what I changed to make it build.

Might have been one of the updates of the ooo-build-patchset we did in-between. Anyway: Good to hear, closing
