Description Candid Dauth 2008-04-20 18:18:50 UTC
For many USB card readers (at least for all that I have seen so far), the kernel option “Probe all LUNs on each SCSI device” (CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN) is required because into those readers you can insert different cards at the same time.
I think this option should be enabled by default because today a lot of people use card readers to transmit files from a digital camera for example.

Reproducible: Always

This has been added in SVN...

OK. This is resolved in genkernel 3.4.10, which is now in the tree and stable.

On every new kernel version I install, this option is disabled again and I have to re-enable it manually. I use genkernel 3.4.10.907. I think this might be genkernel’s fault, if I am wrong feel free to close the bug again.

Same here.

This hasn't been a problem for anyone lately, has it?
Comment 6 Thomas Deutschmann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2020-08-09 20:11:09 UTC
CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN was removed after 3.13.
