Comment 2 Donnie Berkholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-04-21 04:42:10 UTC
Any particular reason you want to use this package?
Comment 3 Charles Clément 2008-04-21 07:25:16 UTC
I wanted to install Xephyr on my system, I found a work around with emerge xorg-server with the kdrive use flag.

Good plan. That version is WAY more recent. I'm going to mask and remove the separate kdrive package before long.
Comment 5 Leung Ki Chi 2008-10-06 15:05:23 UTC
kdrive failed to compile for me too (build.log attached), as well as for the reporter of similar bug 204656. i support masking and removing this old version.

Comment 7 Mike Limansky 2009-01-23 20:32:39 UTC
Hi all,

I successfully use Xephyr. I prepared patch for xorg-server, you can find it in bug 256006.

BR,
Mike.
Comment 8 Rémi Cardona (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-01-25 16:07:24 UTC
x11-base/kdrive is now package.masked. Please emerge x11-base/xorg-server with the "kdrive" use flag instead.

Thanks
Comment 9 Mike Limansky 2009-01-25 22:49:45 UTC
Hi Rémi,

As I described before the xorg-server-1.3.0.0-r6 is failed to build with USE=kdrive. I've submit the bug 256006, but it was terminated as the duplicate of the bug 235789. The problem is that the fix for bug 235789 covers only xorg-server-1.5, and not fix neither 1.3 nor 1.4. Could you please provide the best way to resolv the problem? Maybe it would be better to reopen bug 253789?

BR,
Mike.
