In this version now we don't need to patch Makefile.in and net.c and also supports IPv6 and MD5AUTH. Here is a list of locations where ssmtp-2.60.3 can be downloaded http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/pds.cgi?ports/mail/ssmtp but i don't know how to put in the ebuild that list to be used as mirrors. (maybe the package should go to our Distfiles Mirrors, i don't know) I attach the ebuild

Created attachment 12958 [details, diff] starttls patch SSMTP can use SSL, but it expect mailserver to speak SSL from the begining. This patch adds support for STARTTLS SMTP command.
This patch is ok, but if you set the mailhub to something like mail.example.com:465 it works without starttls. I attach here the new ebuild. Thanks for the patch !
Created attachment 12959 [details] (update) ssmtp-2.60.3-r1.ebuild I have tested it and it works so fine.
The ebuild has been added to portage. Please test and let me know if you find any problems with the package.

Works fine for me. Additionaly, please comment out UseSTARTTLS=YES by default in config file, I forgot to do it before taking diff and it will break if no USE=ssl is defined. Could you push STARTTLS stuff to Debian maintainer?
2.60.4 in portage time to close ?
I agree. Time to close the bug. Please test ssmtp-2.60.4 which fixes (i think) all reported problems within the gentoo bug database.
