An ebuild for libopensync-plugin-barry would be a nice addition to Gentoo portage :) Reproducible: Always
Isn't that the same as app-pda/barry ?

It would be nice if the ebuild checked if it was present and took the appropiate action. (Currently trying to install on AMD64)

I went ahead and added the opensync-plugin via a USE flag. It's not an official flag, but it gets the job done for now. I'd recommend you add the use flags in package.use and not litter your make.conf with uncommitted flags. Before this turns into a forum, head over to http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-691201.html for poll/discussion over a USE flag.
Opensync plugin available as the opensync USE flag in app-pda/barry-0.16 . It pulls app-pda/libopensync
