Description Stephen Torri 2003-05-27 23:52:52 UTC
When I tried to boot from a LiveCD made from a 1.4 rc 1 ISO for the Alpha cpu I
got to the point where the framebuffer console (a.k.a. Place where you normal
see little Tux on screen) the console display was complete mess. A complete mess to
me was little tiny white pixles all over the place which I assume was mean to be
output. Once the white pixels appear nothing happened. The computer was not
responsive to any keys being pressed on the keyboard.

The system specs are:

PC164 Motherboard
Alpha ev56 533MHz CPU
TGA video card

reassigning to bug-wranglers. Not sure if alpha uses the same scripts as ppc.

The alpha LiveCD doesnt contain framebuffer support.

I think we already discussed this in #gentoo-alpha, and decided that a generic kernel wouldnt support your machine (A future version will), so marking INVALID.

Please REOPEN if you have any further info.
