After installing djbdns 1.05-r8 I switched to /etc/tinydns/root. I added some data into the 'data' file and then typed "make". I got a report of "Illegal Instruction" I then attempted to manually perform the "make. The results are: qmail1 root # /usr/bin/tinydns-edit data data.new add ns kahleassociates.com 192.168.1.179 qmail1 root # cat data .kahleassociates.com:192.168.1.179:a:259200 qmail1 root # make /usr/bin/tinydns-data make: *** [data.cdb] Illegal instruction I'm stuck. I don't know if the data is bad (I don't think so, but I am attempting to confirm on the djbdns support email list) or if the compile failed.
I ran additional programs in the djbdns package and they report "Illegal instruction". I am trying to run these programs on a Pentium 233MMX CPU. DJB's qmail program is running just fine on this machine, so I continue to suspect a problem with the build scripts. This is now a blocking problem. There is not way around this as far as I can tell.
