CFLAGS="-O2 -march=core2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -mfpmath=sse -mssse3"

Did you try correcting the spelling to -msse3?
Comment 2 Michael Gaber 2008-04-16 19:01:52 UTC
from the gcc-homepage availiable at http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.3/changes.html

Support for SSSE3 built-in functions and code generation are available via -mssse3.

Comment 3 Markus Dittrich (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-04-17 13:06:59 UTC
This is a known issue with gcc-4.3 since header
dependencies have been cleaned up [1].
In this case there's probably a few <cstring>
includes missing somewhere. I'll see that I can
patch this as soon as I have a dev box up with
gcc-4.3 installed ;)

cheers,
Markus
