After installation of baselayout-2.0.0 and OpenRC-0.2.1-r2, knemo network monitor shows network interface eth0 as Not existing, when in fact, it obviously is working. How else could I have written this bug report? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. update to baselayout-2.0.0 and OpenRC-0.2.1-r2 2. attempt to monitor activity via knemo 3. interface is declared non-existent. Expected Results: knemo should work since the network interface is obviously up and running...however, it does not. The new baselayout/openrc setup also does not allow for network interface renaming...however, I am going to report that as a separate bug.
This problem affects both ~x86 and ~amd64 keywords. After doing the upgrade and noticing the loss of knemo functionality, I emerged it on the amd64 system to see if it was a problem with knemo or perhaps with the new setup. Knemo installed, but it also reports a non-existent eth0 interface.

if knemo can't handle the setup then it needs to be fixed.
It has become clear to me that this problem is NOT related to the new baselayout. It seems to have hit all my systems...and apparently after the latest kdebase version...at least that's what it looks like at this point. Therefore, I am going to call this bug closed.
