J2EE is all Java, thus platform independent.  PPC should not be masked (currently set 
to -ppc).  Although I am only one PPC/Linux user, I can vouch that I installed it 
successfully on my box (and added a fix to the ebuild to update the classpath and 
path).  The diff is uploaded to bug #10855 with some comments.
