Created attachment 158497 [details] my ebuild for klibc 1.5.11 Today I used this ebuild (based on 1.5, cause I wanted to see if it build with installed headers). This ebuild is probably incorrect, but after I used it, rebuilt v86d and the kernel, uvesafb was still working. BTW, is this package heading to maintainer-needed ?
Comment on attachment 158497 [details] my ebuild for klibc 1.5.11 galtgendo: why did you base your ebuild off 1.5 instead of 1.5.8? It's definetly broken the ppc64-32ul case.
Well, as I said I wanted to see if it build with installed headers and, though I've done some ebuild fixes, none of them were for kernel related ebuilds, so I wasn't sure, if I understand it enough to take the fixes, but drop the part, that depended on downloading the kernel sources.
1.5.8 ebuild says, that something gets broken without those headers, but doesn't specify what exactly gets broken, at least not for the people who don't constantly dig in kernel sources.
1.5.11 in the tree now. Same kernel headers still, will do a seperate revision with newer kernel headers.
