It's not a bug in bugzilla.
The culprit line seems to be: xmllib.Error: Syntax error at line 5646: bogus `<' The build works fine for me (Python 2.5), though, even with the DeprecationWarning. The problem seems to be hit while parsing "doc/libxml2-api.xml" in the source tree. Could you examine this file (particularly line 5646) and see if everything looks fine?

Yes. This bug is reproducable with libxml2 2.6.32.
I update for python-2.4.4-r13 and dev-libs/libxml2-2.6.31 is compiled. 1. emerge --sync 2. emerge -1 >=python-2.4.4-r13 3. emerge -1 =dev-libs/libxml2-2.6.31
