Description Pieter De Wit 2003-05-27 07:45:47 UTC
Hey Guys,

I have upgraded to the latest sources using ~x86 and my network stops working
after a reboot. LO doesn't start, I have to enter "ifconfig lo up" to get it to
start. eth0 doesn't have an IP assigned (it is in /etc/conf.d/net) so I have to
do a ifconfig eth0 ip netmask mask && route add default gw gateway

My virtuals doesn't start either (eth0:0 - 20) and when I issue ifconfig eth0:0
up it fails with, "I can't assign that address" or something along those lines.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Reboot machine
2.
3.

Actual Results:
No IP Assigned

Expected Results:
IP should have been assigned and interfaces should be up

Just did a "emerge sync" and that seems to have fixed it with the new base.

Checking on a second server.

Second server still doesn't get IP's assigned

how about the output of dmesg ?
Comment 4 Pieter De Wit 2003-06-10 00:51:50 UTC
Nothing is shown. DM doesn't report anything wrong or so.

Hi ... sorry been sorda MIA for a while.

This issue "should" be fixed in 1.8.6.8-r1. If its still the same with
-r1, then please mail me your /etc/init.d/* (bzip2'd please). Also, run:

  # RC_DEBUG="yes" /sbin/depscan.sh

And mail me /var/lib/init.d/dep*.

How does it go with "Yebo Gogo" and Co ;)

Hey Guys,

I will be testing this today (remote server).

Yebo Gogo is fine :)

Enjoy !
