/sbin/ip is a complex aplication for managing network configuration, from devices, to routing tables, tunnels, and much more that I don't even know. iproute privides this command, but does not provide the man page for it. Has in all decent UNIX systems, there should be a man page (and a good one preferably) for each command, we should provide such a man page, for it is quite important to have documentation of such a "big" aplication such has this one. TIA, good work gentoo developers
Hmmm, I think the Debian man page covers it pretty well: "This program does not have a useful manpage. When a manpage becomes available it will be included. If you are a competent and accurate writer and are willing to spend the time reading the source code and writing good manpages please write a better man page than this one. Please contact the package maintainer in order to avoid several people working on the same manpage."
if anyone is willing, please write one; else close the bug :/
closing - not too many people on the docs team are current in their manpage writing.
Why did this one reopen?
