Dear Peter, as the text you pasted mentions, this bug is very common with broken and/or overclocked hardware. Please try to emerge qt several times and reopen only if you can 100% reproduce your problem. If you can't, then we can't do anything but suggest you to get better cooling, check your RAM with memtest, don't overclock or get the box repaired.
