Remerging libtool-1.5.26 did not help either. While I am aware that compiling 3rd party software is not an issue for gentoo bugs, the error claims to be a gentoo sanity check and therefore not really related to the software to be compiled. either you have local cruft in your pkg directory or you arent running autotools properly. either way, the error is completely accurate.
