Upstream renamed the driver from xf86-video-amd to xf86-video-geode with the most recent version (2.8.0). Creating directory x11-drivers/xf86-video-geode and renaming the current ebuild to xf86-video-geode-2.8.0.ebuild works fine. Reproducible: Always
Note that in about 4-5 days I'm able to take over maintenance of this driver, as I'm in the process of getting a full Gentoo installed for it in a USB HDD and I work with Geode hardware daily at work, while the rest of x11@ probably doesn't have the hardware, just blind bumps. That isn't to say this particular bump should be waiting on me. I'll just be able to test this as well within a week. Curious what hardware you have :p
I'm using a "PepperPad3". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepper_Pad The company went bust but the hardware is still cool. It's a widescreen device so until the last version or two, needed some patching to work properly. I've only tested xorg-server 1.3 so far as I've been fighting with updating the rest of the drivers. Mart, feel free to take over and do the latest bump. I've had it in my todo list for a little while.
Hmm, I must have not committed before. This is now done and xf86-video-geode-2.9.0 is in the tree, and xf86-video-amd is gone with a pkg move to xf86-video-geode for hopefully automatic upgrade across package name. Thanks
