emerge --sync systematically fails and has done so during occasional attempts over approx. one week.


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge --sync

Actual Results:  
>>> Starting svn update...
svn: Connection closed unexpectedly


Expected Results:  
Successful update of the portage tree

$ svn info /gentoo/usr/portage/

the box overlays is on sucks.  you should expect this kind of thing to keep happening.
