parted and qtparted are in sys/apps, but gparted is in sys/block Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.view the portage tree 2. 3. Actual Results: parted and qtparted are in sys/apps, but gparted is in sys/block Expected Results: All three applications do the same thing, so all three should be in the same category of the portage tree.
Gnome, both packages are maintainer-needed and you're listed as herd for gparted. If you can't do anything with this, please pass it along to maintainer-needed.

From sys-block/metadata.xml: The sys-block category contains packages which work with block devices. So my opinion is that gparted is in the correct category, and the other two need to be moved.
reassigning since imho gparted is on the right category. Staying in CC if someone wants to debate.
Sorry, we don't like moving packages around for non-technical reasons.
(In reply to comment #4) > Sorry, we don't like moving packages around for non-technical reasons. Is this really a non-technical reason? It is a definite inconsistency in tree (the issue might be just naming, but inconsistency is inconsistency). I'd understand if it were deprioritised because there are more important things to attend to, but it is something that _should_ be fixed, IMO.
