Actual Results: giflib compile dies Expected Results: giflib emerge should have much later in the queue Hopefully when but #18820 is corrected all of this will go away. I had looked at the emerge scripts weeks ago when this happened buiding another system, the description and wording in giflib and ungif appear to have been cloned. The real problem is however that the proper dependencieds are not in giflib because if I emerge it after all of the set "emerge -eDU world" is done it runs fine. I do not know what the missing dependency was nore was I able to find out what depends on giflib.
I can't do much here without a build log.. can you show me specifically where the compile fails? Missing header or library files?

Maybe the others still have a problem, but I can't since I don't have a 'virgin' box that still needs it installed. I don't think I ever found out what the missing dependencies were. Last on out turn off the light.
