In http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?full=1#book_part1_chap5 , I can read: "Move to the releases/x86/2008.0_beta1/stages/ directory. There you should see all available stage files for your architecture (they might be stored within subdirectories named after the individual subarchitectures). Select one and press D to download. When you're finished, press Q to quit the browser." The problem is that proper dir is simply releases/x86/2008.0_beta1/ as "stages" subdir seems to not exist anymore (at least in ftp.free.fr and http://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/ mirrors) Thanks Reproducible: Always
Wrong, it's there. You just didn't bother to actually browse those mirrors. Behold: http://mirror.anl.gov/pub/gentoo/releases/x86/2008.0_beta1/ Closing.
Waitasec. I misread your statement.
Sorry 'bout that, thought you said that the files didn't exist at all! It seems the directory structure has changed for this release; everything was dumped into the same dir. I've fixed this in our documentation; thanks for reporting.
Thanks for fixing it :-)
