well...when I try to install openoffice, one of dependences is sun-jdk-1.5.0.15. but if I've installed sun-jdk-1.6.0.05, why it want install the 1.5.0.15 version? reading the ebuilds i see the follow : "java? ( || ( =virtual/jdk-1.6* =virtual/jdk-1.5* =virtual/jdk-1.4* )" it say ,if I don't say bad, "one of virtual/jdk with priority on the leftmost"? but if I've installed the virtual/jdk-1.6, why openoffice want install the jdk-1.5? Most likely pulled by some of the dependencies of openoffice, not openoffice itself. See output of emerge with --tree
the packages that want jdk-1.6 is dev-db/hsqldb... you think that if edit the hsqldb's ebuild and insert the virtual/sdk-1.6 value, I can create some dangerous situations?

One of the other java dependencies of OOo will need Java 1.5 because of compatibility issues. Closing invalid as it's not an OOo bug, but the currect maintenance state of Java packages.
