Description hazlhof 2008-04-05 10:47:45 UTC
I booted from liveDVD AMD64 edition and got an error at:
-mounting proc at /proc... [oops]
error while loading shared libraries: /lib/libuuid.so.1: invalid ELF header

Then I have an option to give root password or ctrl+d.
What is the password for root?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Anytime I boot from LiveDVD.
2.
3.

Previously I tried LiveCD and it worked fine, it goes to XFCE without problems.

Have you verified the CD you burned against the ISO? Are there any errors in dmesg?

dmesg

How can I verify burned DVD against ISO?

And is it normal for a LiveDVD to boot long, I guess it was around 15 minutes if not longer?

Well, you can use md5sum to verify the md5 is the same between the ISO and the disk. It does take quite a while for the LiveDVD to boot, especially depending on the options that you've chosen, but it shouldn't be anywhere near 15 minutes unless your machine has a very low amount of physical RAM.

I have burned image 3 times, 2x on same DVDRW and 1x on other. When I burned on this other dvd disc things worked, so it booted normally to xfce!

So, it was media fault and I am sorry for any inconvenience.
