Description Vladimir Kokarev 2008-04-04 18:52:00 UTC
"Use keyboard LED to show alternative layout" options doesn't work in gnome-keyboard-properties. None of 3 variants work.
---
My settings (with "ScrollLock LED shows alternative layout" enabled):
$ gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd
 layouts = [us,ru	winkeys]
 model = evdev
 options = [grp	grp:toggle,grp_led	grp_led:scroll]
 overrideSettings = true

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.enable any option in gnome-keyboard-properties -> Layouts -> Layout Options -> "Use keyboard LED to show alternative layout"

Actual Results:
keyboard LED doesn't indicates alternative layout

that's with a 2.20 or a 2.22 gnome desktop ? Did you look for similar issues upstream ?

2.18, 2.20 and 2.22
I haven't found anything in upstream
Comment 3 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-04-04 19:39:16 UTC
so basically you're saying it never worked, right ? That'd be worth reporting upstream if it still fails with basic CFLAGS (-O2, -march, -pipe)
Comment 4 Andri Möll 2008-04-30 09:29:29 UTC
I'm also experiencing this issue, but as with bug #209962, it started when I upgraded from xorg-server-1.3.0.0-r5 to xorg-server-1.4.0.90-r3.
Comment 5 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2010-03-12 11:29:57 UTC
Fixed for me with gnome-base/gnome-control-center-2.26.0-r1
