For portage does not support files/digest-* files any more, porthole is not able to extract download sizes for packages: It rather displays "bad/blank digest" instead.

Thank you for the patch and update. I have been too busy with life and getting the next version of porthole ready for release. It fixes that and several other deprecations. Porthole-0.6.0_rc3 is now in the tree. I think you will find it to be much better. I also had a patch submitted that changed -0.5.0's coding to use the new manifest file instead.
