Description Cletus Lichte 2003-05-23 21:03:41 UTC
I get the following error during the configure process:

checking for gucharmap >= 0.4... Package gucharmap was not found in the
pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gucharmap.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'gucharmap' found
checking for xft >= 2.0 fontconfig >= 1.0... Package xft was not found in the
pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `xft.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'xft' found

configure: error: Library requirements (xft >= 2.0 fontconfig >= 1.0) not met;
consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries
are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

!!! ERROR: app-office/abiword-1.9.1 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 303, Exitcode 1
!!! econf failed

I'm using the newest xfree86 that has xft. I unmerged xft before merging the
new xfree86.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Remove a couple of lines in package mask
2. type emerge abiword
3.

Actual Results:
Configure failed.

Expected Results:
Compiled and merged.

Portage 2.0.48 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.3, glibc-2.3.2-r1)

Comment 1 Cletus Lichte 2003-05-25 19:29:48 UTC
I've re-emerged xfree and that fixed all my xft problems. But a gucharmap ebuild is missing from portage and keeping abiword from compiling.
Comment 2 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-06-08 09:23:11 UTC
hmm gucharmap is optional, it shouldn't make it fail. Can you give attach configure output and configure.log .
Comment 3 Cletus Lichte 2003-06-12 03:50:55 UTC
Well......I've been updating my box all this time and I decided to give abiword another try after getting your message. This time it configured ok. Don't know what was wrong because it didn't configure before, even after I recompiled xfree to fix my xft problems. Oh well...........Thanks!
Comment 4 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-06-12 04:07:53 UTC
non reproducable, closing.
