GTK seems to add duplicate entries in file dialogs. It is hard to reproduce the issue; really a 'I feel lucky'-bug. So I created a screenshot to make it absolutely clear. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce:

Is it reproducible with glib-2.16.3, gtk-2.12.9-r2, I remember reading something about a bug that would look like this and it was supposed to be fixed. I can't trigger it, is there a way to trigger it in a mostly reproducible fashion or is it just random ?
I usually have it in Thunderbird scrolling to fast in /tmp.
mozilla-thunderbird-bin or not bin ?
non-bin, from sources
I've been able to reproduce this on my target machines at work, this is very troubling.
(In reply to comment #9) > I've been able to reproduce this on my target machines at work, this is very > troubling. If you want we can bet how many years it will take to solve this bug ;)
*** Bug 233954 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Haven't seen this in a while but I don't have the hardware I've seen this one anymore either. Hopefully Benjamin Otte's work on gtktreeview (and gtkfilechooser) will get around this bug as well. We really need a way to reproduce this in a reliable way. Also, did you report it upstream or look for an upstream report ?
From my point of view this is: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=500906 that has different "manifestations" as you can see in its duplicates This should be fixed already and I am unable to reproduce the problem, then, I vote for closing this
(In reply to comment #13) > This should be fixed already and I am unable to reproduce the problem, then, I > vote for closing this I trust your judgment on this. :) @Stefan, please don't hesitate to reopen this bug if you can still reproduce on an updated system. Thanks
