Try with USE="-doc". Which version gtk-doc are you using ? Note that you are mixing a stable system with _HARD_MASKED_ packages and this is strongly discouraged.

Created attachment 148883 [details, diff] rhythmbox link error patch I faced with the same problem. The attached patch seems to fix it in my environment.
I still get undefined symbols with the patch so something is still missing.
Backported fix from svn HEAD. Fixed in portage. Thanks
