Description Willard Dawson 2008-03-28 16:37:29 UTC
According to the man page for kismet, the -q command line option will "Override sound option and run in quiet mode." However, kismet never starts up with sound muted when I invoke this option. Using the 'm' key in the Kismet curses client does mute the sound.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Execute `kismet -q`
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Start `kismet -q`. Expect quiet operation, but sound effects are still active.

Expected Results:
No sound.

Try with 2008.05.1 please, and if it still occurs, open a bug upstream.

Thanks for the follow up, but -q still does not start kismet in "quiet mode," as suggested by the man page. Does it do so for you?

Does anyone care about this? Kismet still is at 2008.05.1, and still ignores the -q option.

Apparently upstream has long since moved on. So, closing this bug as wontfix.
