While I certainly support the idea of fixing this, please do not commit the attached patch. It breaks on my hardened x86 box in linking stage (something about duplicated symbols). Will investigate further when I'm back from Vienna.

Ok, the problem is that aclocal needs --force, but eaclocal does not accept --force. We can use rm aclocal.m4 to workaround that.
Not sure if we want to fix the eclass now, I'm working on a completely restructured ebuild (without usage of per-version eclasses).

Should be fixed in-tree now (applies to whole php-5.2* as I fixed the eclass).
