I was digging around our logs and noticed that 194.29.128.2 is syncing the gentoo rsync module *every minute*. This is not acceptable and really is a abuse of our hardware. Please notify the mirror admin ASAP and have him change it to the 4hr policy you guys have. If you don't hear from him by 0000UTC tomorrow, I will ban their ip from our server. Below is an excerpt from our logs: 2008/03/27 03:22:04 [5831] rsync on gentoo/snapshots/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:22:04 [5830] rsync on gentoo/distfiles/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:22:04 [5829] rsync on gentoo/releases/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:22:06 [5828] rsync on gentoo/grp/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:23:05 [5954] rsync on gentoo/distfiles/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:23:05 [5951] rsync on gentoo/snapshots/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:23:05 [5952] rsync on gentoo/experimental/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:23:05 [5953] rsync on gentoo/releases/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:24:04 [6041] rsync on gentoo/distfiles/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:24:04 [6042] rsync on gentoo/grp/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:24:04 [6043] rsync on gentoo/experimental/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:24:04 [6040] rsync on gentoo/snapshots/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:25:03 [6154] rsync on gentoo/snapshots/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:25:04 [6157] rsync on gentoo/experimental/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:25:04 [6156] rsync on gentoo/distfiles/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) 2008/03/27 03:25:04 [6155] rsync on gentoo/releases/ from gentoo@europa.coi.pw.edu.pl (194.29.128.2) Thanks! -- Lance Albertson Systems Administrator / Architect Open Source Lab Reproducible: Always
Emil, Can you take a look at this right away? Please make sure this is fixed.
