Description Kazankov Alexander 2008-03-26 15:31:26 UTC
I have installed x11-misc/idesk-0.7.5-r1, x11-wm/fluxbox-fluxbox-1.0.0-r2, net-misc/nxserver-freeedition-3.1.0-r1.
I have black desktop with 3 shortcuts. When I am connected to a server using nxclient in inactivity the traffic approximately in 100 Kbit/s is created. Thus shortcuts very often blink.
If I shall open any app (nautilus) and I shall close to all of them labels the traffic of inactivity submits up to ~2 Kbit/s. It is not normal!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install:
x11-wm/fluxbox-fluxbox-1.0.0-r2
x11-misc/idesk-0.7.5-r1
net-misc/nxserver-freeedition-3.1.0-r1.
2. Configure to start fluxbox with idesk. Configure nxserver for default startup of fluxbox
3. Create 4 shortcuts into idesk.
4. Connect to the server with nxclient, Geniral options: Desktop Unix/Custom-Run_default....-New_virtual_desktop/Modem.
Actual Results:
The traffic in inactivity ~150Kbit/s.

Expected Results:
The traffic in inactivity ~600bytes/s.

When earlier, before updatings there were versions:
x11-misc/idesk-0.7.5, x11-wm/fluxbox-fluxbox-1.0.0, net-misc/nxserver-freeedition-2.1.0.
 all was normal.

If to not start idesk the desirable effect is reached.

I'm afraid you have to do some digging yourself, not many people with such setups... Please get back to us if you find something useful. Thanks!
