Description Joel Koglin 2008-03-25 05:06:25 UTC
The installer will that that is has failed. If you do a ctrl-alt-F8 you see that it says "Error: Unknown option `--no-gensplash`!"
I chrooted into the environment the installer was working in and found the genkernel version 3.4.10_pre7 has --no-splash instead of --no-gensplash

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. use the 2007.0 x86 livecd
2. start the gtk installer and choose standard install
3. I use ~x86 (unstable arch)
4. I chose gentoo-sources instead of the livecd kernel
5. after it downloads the kernel it tries to run genkernel (3.4.10_pre7)
6. the flag --no-gensplash was changed to --no-splash therefore install fails

Actual Results:
the installer will that that is has failed. if you do a ctrl-alt-F8 you see that it says "Error: Unknown option `--no-gensplash`!"

Expected Results:
Ran genkernel and created a generic kernel

Don't use unstable arch until after the installer process and you shouldn't have any problems.

I just reproduced it and I didn't use ~x86 this time the genkernel version is 3.4.9 same error --no-gensplash is not a flag

The upcoming version of the installer only does a network install, so it's moot.
