As said, (/System)/Library/Fonts are not used by default (i.e. they are not in $EPREFIX/etc/fonts.conf).

I did a slightly different approach to sort of do the same.

I hope it works fine!

It doesn't. CHOST is *-darwin8 for me, which is not matched with *-darwin. *-darwin* maybe?
