I edited the ebuild to add the mtp support flag. It works on my amd64; in plugins appears "Lettori Portatili - MTP" (don't know the translation :)). MTP support was recently improved for 0.11.4 or .5 (can't remember), so we'll more likely add it to 0.11.5 which will go in portage along Gnome 2.22. Please do send patches rather than full ebuilds. It makes reviewing much easier for us. Thanks
rhythmbox-0.11.5 which is now in tree has a new mtp use flag. Closing as fixed. And please next time submit ebuild patches, not full ebuilds unless asked.
