Description Alexander Jordan 2003-05-20 13:52:36 UTC
If I start Mozilla-1.3-r1 with XFree-4.3.0-r2 then Mozilla hangs in the middle
of the starting process for nearly 20 seconds. After that anythings runs normal.
The System as is seems not be involved, cause of every process I tested has the
progress as it after 20 seconds normally seems to have.
There is no problem with same software-configuration but XFree-4.2.1-r2.
There is no Problem on my second System with same software-configuration but
NVidia Geforce2MX400.

The experiment with the Mach64-drivers from Retinal Burn (http://www.retinalburn.net/linux/index.html) ends with the same results.

With XFree-4.3.0-r3 this problem seems solved, but I can't find the reason....
It runs with the native XFree-4.3.0 driver, as the RetinalBurn with Xv for XFree-4.3.0, too.

hmmm @ -r3
at the time that you emerged it, -r3 was in a completely different state from what it is now. I recently unmasked -r3 (about 5 hours ago). perhaps you can try that?
Comment 6 Alexander Jordan 2003-06-05 11:03:16 UTC
As is tried to emerge xfree-4.3.0-r3 again, emerge says:
*snip*
!!! all ebuilds that could satisfy "x11-terms/xterm" have been masked.

!!! Error calculating dependencies. Please correct.
*snap*

But how can I correct this?

unmask them ? they're in package.mask

wrong version of -r3 you are trying. Please emerge sync.. do NOT unmask xterm, I repeat do NOT.
