In the last week alsa-driver-0.9.0_rc6.ebuild was removed from Portage, so a bunch of friends and I with Olidata (Italians) desktops and notebooks with the integrated VIA8233A sound chipset are unable to freshly install ALSA on ours computers. I think that the ebuild should be available again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have a VIA8233A sound chipset 2. emerge alsa-driver Actual Results: Sound is crappy! Expected Results: Play sounds and AC/DC good :)
Created attachment 12212 [details] alsa-driver-0.9.0_rc6.ebuild this is the old alsa ebuild. but you realy dont need it. because with the new 0.9.2 the problem with the via card is gone. or you can take one of the new one >=0.9.2 ebuilds. if you still have problems, then try deselecting acpi in your kernel or at boot-time (acpi=off). cheers SteveB
won't fix since the later versions already in portage take care of it...
