Uh; the Makefile is kinda buggy...

No Jakub it is not, the makefile should work pretty fine, the fatal is only in a subshell which does NOT change anything in the final result.

Eduard which version of git are you using?

Pardon me but the thing has zero reason to mess with git on emake, that's for packaging the thing and not for normal install.
Comment 6 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-03-05 15:46:24 UTC
Oh fantastic, _the other_ git -_-;

Somebody remind me what Linus said... "three letters that were not used already"?
Comment 7 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-03-05 15:47:41 UTC
Jakub, indeed is used only for packaging, it only outputs a warning during build. Take a look to FFmpeg, it does the same. Half the projects have similar issues, and as it's just a warning, I didn't care enough to even try hiding it in the released tarball.

Now that there is a problem with _the other_ git, it starts to be messy.
Comment 8 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-03-05 17:01:37 UTC
Fixed with 20080305.
