No Jakub it is not, the makefile should work pretty fine, the fatal is only in a subshell which does NOT change anything in the final result. Eduard which version of git are you using?

Jakub, indeed is used only for packaging, it only outputs a warning during build. Take a look to FFmpeg, it does the same. Half the projects have similar issues, and as it's just a warning, I didn't care enough to even try hiding it in the released tarball. Now that there is a problem with _the other_ git, it starts to be messy.
Fixed with 20080305.
