The KDE4 ebuild can then be pulled from portage in KDE 4.1.0 because it's now part of the official kopete plugin code. http://websvn.kde.org/tags/KDE/4.0.71/kdenetwork/kopete/plugins/otr/ Wednesday 12.03.2008 kopete-otr in KDE for 4.1 Good news! kopete-otr has been accepted by the KDE team and will be part of KDE as of the 4.1 release. Yesterday I moved it from kdereview into official kopete svn.
Created attachment 160174 [details] Kopete-otr 0.8 for KDE4ish (In reply to comment #2) > The KDE4 ebuild can then be pulled from portage in KDE 4.1.0 because it's now > part of the official kopete plugin code. > > http://websvn.kde.org/tags/KDE/4.0.71/kdenetwork/kopete/plugins/otr/ > > Wednesday 12.03.2008 kopete-otr in KDE for 4.1 > Good news! kopete-otr has been accepted by the KDE team and will be part of KDE > as of the 4.1 release. Yesterday I moved it from kdereview into official kopete > svn. > Well it's now July 11, 2008 and I'm using the kdesvn-portage overlay from layman and am running slot kde-4.1 version 4.0.85 (much later than the 4.0.71 listed above) and OTR is still not available in Kopete. Since the kde-4.1 slot has kdepim for kde4 now, I'm ready to move over, but I HAVE to have OTR for kopete. So.... I'm attaching my ebuild and setting the bug to resolved. If you're using the kde-4 slot just change the slot variable to reflect that and it should work just fine. Check out http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Installing_3rd_Party_Ebuilds if you have no idea what I'm talking about.
Well... forgive me for my ignorance. It appears as if I cannot set the bug to "Resolved". Anyway, see my attachment and if you start kopete:kde-4 or kopete:kde-4.1 and you don't see OTR in the plugins, logout of your KDE session and log back in. Seems it needed to reread the libraries at /usr/kde/4.1/lib64/kde4/ (which is where kopete-otr throws it's files). By the way, I'm on amd64 arch, could be a lil different for you 32-bit folks.
It's there don't know why its not being compiled: http://websvn.kde.org/tags/KDE/4.0.80/kdenetwork/kopete/plugins/otr/ http://websvn.kde.org/tags/KDE/4.0.83/kdenetwork/kopete/plugins/otr/ http://websvn.kde.org/tags/KDE/4.0.98/kdenetwork/kopete/plugins/otr/ Perhaps a certain useflag is not enabled, and thus it is not being compiled?
Hi all! kopete-otr is integrated into kopete since 11.03.09. The cmake-script checks for presence of >=libotr-3.1.0 and enables the plugin automatically. Unfortunately the kdesvn-portage ebuild does not have an otr use flag. So the way to go for now is: emerge libotr emerge =kopete-9999 When KDE 4.1 goes into official portage I hope there will be a use-flag that pulls in libotr.
Already in kde-base/kopete with use otr
