if I emerge gnome-vfs-2.21.90 with gtk-doc <1.9 it fails with -- Installing ./html/up.png -- Installing ./html/volumes.html -- Installing ./html/index.sgml which: no gtkdoc-rebase in (/usr/lib/ccache/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/lib/portage/bin:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/opt/bin:/usr/i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-bin/3.3.5-20050130:/usr/i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-bin/4.1.2:/opt/blackdown-jdk-1.4.2.03/bin:/opt/blackdown-jdk-1.4.2.03/jre/bin:/usr/kde/3.5/sbin:/usr/kde/3.5/bin:/usr/qt/3/bin:/opt/vmware/workstation/bin) make[2]: *** [install-data-local] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/gnome-base/gnome-vfs-2.21.90/work/gnome-vfs-2.21.90/doc' Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. use gtk-doc-1.8 2. emerge gnome-vfs from gnome "experimental" overlay 3. Actual Results: emerge fails Expected Results: emerge works works with gtk-doc-1.9, so this should be a dependency
this is incorrect, this error only triggers because the package was generated with broken rules. Some packages in portage already has similar fixes (evolution for example iirc)
this problem doesn't exist in 2.22. Closing.
