Description polytan 2008-02-29 08:02:06 UTC
When you use gparted, it put this file :

/usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/gparted-disable-automount.fdi

That prevent yopu from doing automount.

The soft doesn't remove this file a this should be done.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.use gparted
2.put a usb key
3.nothing appear

Actual Results:
rmove the file after use of gprated

Expected Results:
No file should be there after you close the program

debian has solved this bug, but I'm not a dev and I don't know what they do and if it is a solution we can use in Gentoo.

This happens only when the program crashes. Afaik, this problem has been fixed in 0.3.5 by removing the file even when the program crashes. What version are you using ?

could you try 0.3.5 to confirm it fixes your problem ?

run-gparted

Script do be used instead of "plain" gparted executable. This is how fedora & mandriva fix this bug:
