When you use gparted, it put this file : /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/gparted-disable-automount.fdi That prevent yopu from doing automount. The soft doesn't remove this file a this should be done. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.use gparted 2.put a usb key 3.nothing appear Actual Results: rmove the file after use of gprated Expected Results: No file should be there after you close the program debian has solved this bug, but I'm not a dev and I don't know what they do and if it is a solution we can use in Gentoo. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=434268
This happens only when the program crashes. Afaik, this problem has been fixed in 0.3.5 by removing the file even when the program crashes. What version are you using ?
