The new memory-leak-patch does not work for the compilation on amd64 (on x86 its ok).

the log

Attached the requested log
Just to mention this: unsetting ldflags didn't help (so it's not due to this settings)

Upgrading from older version of xfdesktop? Might be ccache breaking the build, try disabling it

FEATURES="-ccache"

Sorry, but this trick didn't help.

Just tried to compile xfdesktop-4.4.2 w/o the patch in question, but I get exactly the same error. Related to gcc-4.2.3? Last time I compiled successfully with gcc-4.2.2.

updated menu-leaks patch

Also from mandriva, this was however corrected in the upstream sources. The first hunk is almost identical with ${FILESDIR}/xfdesktop-4.4.2-memory-leak.patch used by gentoo in xfdesktop-4.4.2-r1, the second hunk is http://svn.xfce.org/index.cgi/xfce/revision?rev=26652#diff__xfdesktop_branches_xfce_4_4_modules_menu_desktop-menuspec.c

It's almost the same solution as found for the borkage of gnucash, see bug210944

should be fixed with xfdesktop-4.4.2-r2, thanks
