An ebuild for Frederic Fondriest's AAC plugin for xmms. and a patch so that it supports seeking/file info out of the box (rather than making the user create a ~/.xmms/Plugins/aacConfig.txt). More info at http://fondriest.frederic.free.fr/realisations/aacplugin.php I suggest media-plugins it requires xmms, libid3 3.8 and faad2 1.1 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

Doesn't seem to want to play aac files ripped by iTunes 4.0 on OS X. Which encoder is it known to work with?
works with .aac files from faac. Am currently working on m4a support (didn't know there was a difference, and couldn't check itunes as I don't have a mac...)
If you need a tester for mac m4a get in touch.
Oliver, what's the progress on this?
bump. just curious as to what's the status with this xmms-aac plugin. --thanks
Ajay, you can use media-libs/faad2-2.0_rc3-r1.ebuild for aac support. It looks like the author of the aacplugin referenced here has renamed it mp4Plugin, and it's now here: http://fondriest.frederic.free.fr/fichiers/xmms_mp4Plugin-0.4.tar.bz2 jje, do you want me to take over this bug?
Bouncing back to herd.
faad2 provides an aac plugin, and this one doesn't seem to be well maintained...
