Subject says it all. It works without any problems on amd64-linux.
May I ask why this is assigned to alt ? You are asking for amd64-linux which is the regular portage tree right ? If you did this in ignorance, please don't do that again and let the bug assigned to bug-wranglers that will properly triage it.
@eva: the regular portage tree is "amd64". The bug is assigned to the Prefix Support project, hence the request for "amd64-linux". This is not what you think, it's like Gentoo on top of Fedora, SuSE, Debian, Gentoo, etc.

alrighty, thanks for clarification, I thought it was a mis-assignation.
@stefan, did you get this actually compiled? Do you use an "older" gcc maybe (I think I use 4.3.0)
I have just emerged dia-0.96.1-r1 on amd64-linux using gcc-4.2.3 again, that's the latest gcc not being masked.
I was actually in the process of installing dia (and about 40 deps) when grobian made his last comment. Works for me, thanks for reporting! Committed revision 22065.
